Rules for everyone who posts
Published 15 October 2026.
Regulars works because people trust it. These are the rules every instructor, organiser, venue and partner follows. We publish them so everyone knows where they stand, including the people who train with you.
Members come first
- No business decides who checks in, connects with anyone or follows anyone.
- Businesses see totals, never names, never anyone's mode.
- There's no chat, so nobody can message anyone through Regulars.
- Nobody can pay to be suggested to anyone.
Posting at a venue
- A venue that has claimed its page chooses who posts there. By default that's the venue and the instructors and organisers it has linked.
- Before a venue claims its page, a freelancer's class there shows on the freelancer's own profile, and on the venue's page only once we've checked with the venue.
- An instructor shows as teaching at a venue only while the venue confirms it. If a venue unlinks someone, their future events there are cancelled after 14 days' notice.
- People follow the instructor, not the venue, so followers stay with them.
Posting at parks, beaches and the water
- Public places belong to nobody, so any approved instructor or organiser can post there.
- The landowner's or council's permission, and your insurance, are yours to sort. A listing on Regulars never means permission has been given.
- If two sessions are posted at the same meeting point at overlapping times, we tell both organisers before either goes live. Each sees only what the other's listing shows publicly. Neither is blocked.
Promotion
- Promotion is always labelled “Promoted by” and appears only on town and activity pages.
- Nothing is posted, promoted or presented on another business's page, except a challenge that place or club has approved.
- Nobody sees another business's promotion at a claimed venue, or at anyone's session or event. What a member has chosen to follow still reaches them.
- Nobody posts under another business's name, or in a way that reads as theirs.
Presenting a challenge
- A claimed place or club approves who presents a challenge there. At unclaimed and public places, we do.
- A presenter never sells what the place sells or runs itself: no gym, studio, class or personal trainer at a gym or studio, and no café or bar where there's one of its own. No dating apps or services, ever.
- One presenter at a time. A claimed place or club may offer its presenter the next four weeks first. There's no first refusal at public places.
- Challenges are offered only where at least 10 different people a week use Regulars. We tell you that number, and the price, before you pay. If fewer than 10 take part, you don't pay.
- No challenge ever rewards going out in dangerous conditions.
Women-only sessions
- Anyone can see a women-only listing. Only people who've told us they're a woman can say they're going, see the exact meeting point or have it count as their session.
- That comes from what people tell us in their profile. We can't check it, so the listing says so, and organisers can keep the exact spot for their own booking confirmation.
- Being at a women-only session never leads to a suggestion with anyone who isn't a woman.
- Women-only listings never show an expected size.
Sizes and prices
- Paid events are priced by the size the organiser expects. That size shows on the listing only from 101 people. If more come than expected, we suggest a bigger size next time. There's never a charge after the event.
- Every price is the price you pay, including any VAT.
- Nothing is charged during the pilot, and we'll confirm prices before anyone pays.
When something's wrong
- Anyone, business or member, can report a listing that breaks these rules, or a concern about safety. A person reads every report, and nobody is told who reported.
- We decide, and we tell both sides what we decided.
