Terms of use
The short version
Regulars helps you get to know the people you keep seeing at your gym, class or park. It only works if everyone feels safe, so by using it you agree to a few simple rules:
- You're 18 or over, and you use your real first name.
- Be kind. Nothing offensive in your name, photo, challenges, classes or anything else you add. No harassment, no following anyone, no unwanted contact, and respect other people's modes.
- We have no tolerance for abuse. If someone breaks these rules, we remove what they added and can close their account. Reports are looked at by a person.
- You're in charge of your own safety when you meet people. Regulars introduces people; it doesn't check who anyone is.
- Health features aren't medical advice. Effort points and zones are estimates.
The full terms are below. They work alongside our privacy notice, which explains what we do with your data.
Who we are
Regulars is run by Regulars Life Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17524221), at 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. In these terms, "we" and "us" means Regulars Life Ltd, and "you" means anyone who uses the Regulars app.
You can contact us at [email protected], or at the address above.
Who can use Regulars
- You must be 18 or over.
- You may have one account, for yourself. Use your real first name and, if you add one, a photo of yourself.
- You must not use Regulars if we've closed an account of yours before, unless we've agreed you can come back.
How everyone agrees to behave
Regulars only shows other people things you choose to share, and it has no chat, so most of what happens between members happens in person. These rules apply in the app and to anything that happens because of it.
Things you add. Your first name, photo, challenge names, the places and classes you add, and anything else you write must not be:
- offensive, hateful, threatening or abusive, including about anyone's race, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, disability or age
- sexual, or nudity of any kind
- about another person without their agreement, including naming or mocking someone in a challenge
- false or misleading, including pretending to be someone else or a business you don't represent
- advertising or selling, except where Regulars offers a way to do it
How you treat people. You must not:
- harass, intimidate or pressure anyone, or keep approaching someone who isn't interested
- follow anyone, or use Regulars to work out where someone will be
- ignore someone's mode: Noise cancelling means they'd rather not chat
- use Regulars for dating or anything sexual
- collect information about other members, or try to identify anyone from the totals and patterns the app shows
How you use the app. You must not misuse reports or blocks, enter results or check-ins you know are false, try to get around a block, or try to break, copy or overload the app or its systems.
Reporting, blocking and what we do
You can block anyone you can see in the app, and report them or anything they've added. A block is absolute: you'll never be suggested to each other again, and they're never told. Reports are confidential and the person reported is never told who made them.
A person looks at every report. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours. Depending on what happened, we may remove what someone added, pause suggestions for them while we look, or close their account. We can also remove anything that breaks these terms without a report, and an automatic filter stops some words being used in names.
If you're ever in danger, call 999. If something happened at a gym, club or another place, you can also tell its staff.
Meeting people in person
Regulars suggests people whose routines already overlap with yours, and gives you a reason to say hello. It doesn't check anyone's identity or background, and we can't control what people do outside the app. Use your own judgement, as you would with anyone you meet at a class or in the park, and don't share more than you're comfortable with.
Health, fitness and the outdoors
Regulars is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice. Effort points, heart rate zones and step counts are estimates. Talk to a doctor before starting a new kind of exercise if you have a health condition, and stop if you feel unwell.
Challenges and goals are there for fun. Never take part in anything that isn't safe for you, and take care outdoors: check the weather, the water and the light, and don't go out in dangerous conditions for a challenge or a badge.
Places, classes and businesses
Information about places, classes and events comes from members, from OpenStreetMap and from the businesses themselves. We do our best to keep it accurate, but we can't promise it is.
Instructors, organisers and venues who appear in Regulars are independent of us. If you book or pay for a class, session or event, that's between you and them, on their terms; we don't take part in it.
Your content
You own what you add to Regulars. You give us permission to store it and show it in the ways the app describes (for example your photo to your connections and friends, or a challenge to the people at a place) for as long as it's in the app. When you delete something, or your account, we stop showing it, as the privacy notice explains.
Cost
Regulars is free for members. Businesses that pay for tools on regulars.life do so under separate terms.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, under Export or delete your data. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if we have to by law. If we close the app altogether, we'll tell you in advance where we can.
Our responsibility to you
We provide Regulars with reasonable care and skill, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
We're responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We're not responsible for losses that aren't foreseeable, for anything another member or a business does, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
If you downloaded Regulars from the App Store
These terms are between you and Regulars Life Ltd, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); otherwise Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple isn't responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, or claims that the app or your use of it infringes someone else's intellectual property; we are, to the extent these terms say. You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, and you confirm you're not in a country under a US government embargo and not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
If you downloaded Regulars from Google Play, Google's terms for Google Play apply alongside these.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Regulars changes. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your own country's courts.
