Who can see that you're there

Only your connections and friends, and only when you're both checked in at the same place. Everyone else sees totals, never names. Outdoors, nobody is shown individually: only totals.

Nobody sees the exact time you checked in. In Settings, Visibility shows what your connections and friends can see, and you can switch any of it off.
